Pemberton, the independent asset management group backed by Legal & General Group plc, today announces it has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Thomas Lack as Chief Operating Officer.
Lack joins as a Partner in the firm and brings more than 25 years of experience in operational management from leading UK and international financial services companies.
Prior to joining Pemberton, Lack was the Chief Operating Officer for Brewin Dolphin. His previous roles also include Head of Operations at Coutts and Head of Operations at RBS. During his career, Lack has worked for the likes of Morgan Stanley and UBS.
Symon Drake-Brockman, Managing Partner of Pemberton, said: “Tom’s deep experience in both investment management and investment banking operations makes him the perfect candidate for this key senior role. Our firm is built on its strong combination of banking and asset management expertise, which we believe offers our investors a complete platform for generating attractive credit opportunities.
As we look to broaden and deepen our platform this year, Tom’s arrival will help us develop the necessary scale and skillset to truly capture the opportunities we see across Europe.”
Thomas Lack added: “I was attracted by the opportunity to work with a company that has already been recognised by the private debt industry as a leading global fund manager and yet has significant expansion capacity. I am looking forward to working closely with the Pemberton team to help better its platform and further its growth ambitions.”
Christopher Higgins, the incumbent Chief Operating Officer, will remain at Pemberton, with a new role as Head of Strategy.
